Origins of the Guitar Tabulature Book

I went to Morón de la Frontera in 1970 in southern Spain to learn 'a little bit' of Flamenco. I stayed for most of three years. Diego rented me a house one kilometer out of town that had been given to him by a local Flamenco club. I took numerous lessons with Diego and his nephews and traded falsetas with other American guitarists living in town. I also built up a huge audio tape collection from my own recorded tapes and from copying those of other guitarists. There were scores of ideas I heard on these that no one knew. With the help of a 4-speed Uher reel-to-reel tape recorder, I taught myself over the years to 'pick' falsetas accurately off tapes. In the mid-eighties I put it all together in this book. A few years later I wrote out a Rhythm Lesson to help those who bought my book to play bulerias, soleares, & alegrias rhythms in the Morón style.
